 The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) equips Latinos and other DC area residents with the skills and financial tools necessary to create a better future for their families and communities. Inscape Publico created a vision for LEDC's new headquarters in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC that will allow LEDC to better serve their clients. An open floor plan facilitates communication between staff members, while private meeting rooms allow for personal client meetings and confidential inter-staff dialogue. A central communicating stair provides circulation from a lower-level training room up through two levels of staff offices to a roof top terrace. The stair core connects the multi-level facility acoustically and visually and filters natural light throughout. Vertical translucent panels enclose the stair and create an architectural integration of branding and identity, communicating the mission of LEDC to those that work and visit this vibrant space.
